Banker Patrick Guinness and his wife, Louise, have failed to find a buyer for their nine-bedroom Georgian house, Furness House, on 34.5 acres near Naas, in Co Kildare. The property was withdrawn at auction by Hamilton Osborne King Residential, which is now quoting £4 million. Mr Guinness is the only son of the Hon Desmond Guinness, of Leixlip Castle, and the late Mariga Guinness.
In Dublin sales, a seven-bedroom house on 3.4 acres, Kilmarnock, on Military Road, Killiney, was withdrawn and is under negotiation through Jackson-Stops. In Dun Laoghaire, a four-bedroom semi-detached house, Clanaboye, on Corrig Avenue, was withdrawn at £345,000 by Lisney, which is quoting £345,000.
In Monkstown, a five-bedroom period house at 58 Monkstown Road was sold at auction for £620,000 through McCabe.
A three-bedroom terraced house at 11 Maretimo Villas, Blackrock, was withdrawn at £290,000 and sold later for £293,500 by Allen and Townsend.

McNally Handy & Partners is seeking £550,000 for 96 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 2, a six-bedroom period house, following its withdrawal at auction.
Daphne L Kaye & Associates has sold 12 Vavasour Square, Sandymount, a three-bedroom split-level terraced house, after auction for over £400,000.
In Ballsbridge, 79 Merrion Village, a three-bedroom townhouse, was sold after auction by Gunne Residential.

A four-bedroom Victorian house at 3 Bushy Park Road, Rathgar, was withdrawn by Lisney and sold later for over £900,000.
