Sandyford/€299,000-plus: Hooke & MacDonald is launching a new phase of 32 two-bedroom apartments at the Kilgobbin Wood development near Sandyford in Dublin 18.

The two-bedroom apartments, which range in size from 60-73 sq m (650-785 sq ft), are priced from €299,000 with completion dates from this summer.

One of the main attractions is the location: Kilgobbin Wood is within walking distance of the proposed Sandyford-St Stephen's Green Luas line and a short drive from the route of the Southern Cross Motorway.

It is also close to the many sporting, retail and educational facilities that this part of south Co Dublin has to offer, such as Leopardstown Racecourse, the Westwood fitness centre, several first-class golf courses, and shopping at Cornelscourt and Stillorgan.

With the Dublin Mountains almost on its doorstep, the development gives owners every opportunity to get away from it all.

Designed by architect Frank Elmes & Co, Kilgobbin Wood is a scheme of houses and apartments set in a landscaped open space just off the Ballyogan Road.

The location, which previously was the site for an ancient castle, has views of the Dublin Mountains. Previous phases of three and five-bedroom houses at Kilgobbin Wood have already sold out.

All the apartments in this phase at Kilgobbin Wood have good-sized balconies, the main bedroom is en suite, while the fireplace is of limestone with a coal-effect insert.

Other standard features include ceiling cornices in the livingroom and hallway, double glazing, gas-fired central heating, fitted kitchens, fitted wardrobes in all bedrooms, and a security intercom.

The elevation is a mix of redbrick and blue/black slate at mansard level. Most of the apartments in this phase are in four-storey blocks with surface car-parking.

Kilgobbin Wood is being built by Deane Homes whose previous schemes include Tudor Grange in Rathfarnham and the Orchard in Lucan.
