PROPERTY development company PC Rentals has paid more than £850,000 for the former AIB premises at 63/64 Upper O'Connell Street, Dublin 1. The four-storey over basement building has a floor area of 8,700 square feet and a rear access from Henry Place. It adjoins National Irish Bank and McDonalds fast-food restaurant. Larry Brennan of Hamilton Osborne King, who acted for PC Rentals, said it planned to refurbish the building and to offer part of it for use as a retail or restaurant unit. Druker Fanning acted for AIB. PC Rentals is currently completing a high quality building at Fownes Street in Temple Bar where a ground floor restaurant of 5,500 square feet has been let to Hamburger Inns Ltd at a rent of £110,000 per annum. The company operates a chain of Italian theme restaurants known as Luigi Maones. Eight overhead apartments have already been sold. Hamilton Osborne King handled the development.
