A redevelopment site of almost one acre at Hammond Lane, near Smithfield, Dublin 7, is expected to attract a range of developers when it is sold by tender on November 25th through Hamilton Osborne King. It is likely to make in excess of £4 million. The warehouse and office complex was occupied for many years by matchmakers Maguire & Patterson and is now owned by Swedish Match. The site is likely to be used either for an office or apartment development. Although the entire site covers an area of 1.2 acre, part of it has been earmarked for the new LUAS light rail line. The Smithfield area, which comes under Dublin Corporation's HARP project, is undergoing substantial redevelopment.
