IN ONE of the few sales of development land this year, a small residential site at Cabinteely, Co Dublin, has been sold by private treaty for just over €600, 000.

The plot extends to 0.3 hectares (0.73 of an acre) at Doonsalla Drive, Johnstown, and is likely to accommodate between six and eight houses, according to Jonathan Preston of selling agents Savills.

The site currently includes a former community centre and is located at the end of Doonsalla Drive in a long-estabhlished residential location. Neighbouring estates include Churchview Road, Auburn, Woodlands and Watson’s Estate. Although the site does not have planning permission, its zoning provides for residential use. Preston said that despite the difficulties facing the economy and the property market there were still a number of cash buyers looking for high quality housing sites at the right price.
