Showhomes in the second phase of the development at Applewood Village, Swords, Co Dublin, will open for viewing this weekend. Ross McParland is the selling agent.
The first phase of the development, which included a mix of 100 townhouses and apartments, sold off the plans last autumn. The second phase of development will comprise 85 apartments, including a mix of one-bedroom garden apartments, two-bedroom duplexes and one and two-bedroom apartments.
Developed by Drumloe Properties Ltd, Applewood is a village-style development north of Swords town centre, close to the Motorola campus.
On completion there will be over 300 homes along with a main street which will have a pub, restaurant, shops, supermarket, pharmacy, banking hall and other services. The development is also landscaped to complement the village-style setting.
In this phase there are 32 two-bed duplex apartments, 32 one-bed garden apartments, 12 one-bedroom block apartments and nine two-beds. The 550 sq ft one-bedroom apartments start at £119,995 (152,362).
Two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 660 sq ft to 807 sq ft are priced from £137,995 (175,217). The two-bed duplex units are 850sqft and are priced from £143,995 (182,835).
All kitchens come fully equipped with fridge, washing machine, oven and hob. The Shaker-style maple units with chrome handles in the showhomes are standard, as is the wall tiling in the kitchen.
The two-bedroom duplex unit is the most spacious apartment. Set above the one-bedroom garden apartments at first-floor level, there are steps leading up to the front door. The kitchen is located at the front of the apartment and features a bright bay window.
The sittingroom is located to the back and patio doors lead out to a paved patio, large enough to accommodate table and chairs. There is a large fireplace, standard throughout, with a wooden mantel, black marble feature and fire inset. A spacious understairs closet is accessed from the sittingroom.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom, at the back, is a large room with white double wardrobes as standard.
The second bedroom is also a good-size double with built-in wardrobes.
There is a choice of one-bedroom apartments. Thirty-two units at ground floor level have small front gardens and there are an additional 12 one-beds in an apartment block. The one-beds are very similar to the two-beds and share many features.
In the one-bedroom garden apartments, which are located beneath the duplex units, the front door is located to the back of the terrace. The living area in the one-bed is open plan with a half-wall dividing the kitchen from the sittingroom. The bedroom is to the back and features a double wardrobe.
The one and two-bedroom apartments in the block have balconies. All bedrooms are wired for television and telephone. Completion date is from October 2001. Standard features include natural gas in the duplexes and electrical heating in apartments.
The booking deposit is £2,000 (2,539) by cheque or bankers draft; a further £5,000 (6,348) is payable on signing of contracts, with the balance due on completion.
