The latest batch of new homes to sell within days, 176 apartments at Santry, Dublin 9, were bought mainly by first-time buyers, as well as by couples trading down from houses in the area. The £30 million in sales was the highest achieved so far this year in a new scheme, according to joint agents Hooke and MacDonald and Ross McParland.

Several hundred people visited Temple Gardens at NorthWood, where they were able to view a scale model of the development and a fitted show apartment. The Santry scheme, a joint venture between Morrison Homes and Woodford Developments Ltd, will eventually have over 1,100 apartments to be completed over a four-year period. Prices in the first phase ranged from £150,000 (#190,500) for one-bedroom apartments and from £195,000 to £230,000 (#247,650 to #292,100) for three-bedroom homes.
