An Irish Times search for the world’s best Irish pub (outside Ireland) has named its top 10. They are: the Auld Shillelagh, London, UK; Bubbles O’Leary, Kampala, Uganda; The Drunken Poet, Melbourne, Australia; Finn McCool’s, New Orleans, US; Healy Macs, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; The Irish Haven, New York, US; Irish Pub Koblenz, Germany; The Irish Times, Vancouver Island, Canada; The James Joyce, Prague, Czech Republic; and the Wild Rover hostel in Cusco, Peru.

The competition is part of the Irish Times Generation Emigration project, a section of irishtimes.com devoted to Irish people overseas. In February, we asked Irish people around the world to write a love letter to their favourite Irish pub overseas. Over the course of the month, more than 1,500 people in 41 countries wrote to us.
