As part of Jimmy Crowley’s regular folk night at the LV on MacCurtain Street in the city, a fundraiser takes place tonight for performer Máirtín de Cógáin, who hopes to raise enough money to make a DVD of his American tours. Doors at 8pm and admission is €10.

Dublin

The Dublin Tall Ships festival begins today and runs until Sunday. Highlights include a family zone at Grand Canal Square from 1pm-6pm, and live music from Jerry Fish, Cathy Davey and Duke Special. All events are free. dublintallships.ie
