Richie Egan of Jape
What's on your rider?Beer, whiskey, water, hummus.
What would be on your fantasy rider?100 Ferrero Rochers.
What's your pre-gig ritual/ routine?A pint of Guinness and a few jokes.
How do you get to the gig – limo, taxi, walking?Carrying something heavy, to and from a splitter van.
What's the best gig you've been to?Maybe Fugazi when we played with them, or John Talabot at Electric Picnic this year. It's when the music becomes a force and heals you.
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?I don't really care as long as there is a decent PA, and human bodies to soak up the sound.
Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?Gene Wilder came along to one of our gigs once.
Most embarrassing on-stage moment?Pretty much every time I open my mouth to tell a joke between songs.
What's the most you've ever paid for a gig ticket?60 quid or something to see Kris Kristofferson. It was worth it, though.
Chatting between songs – good or bad?Good, in small doses. You've got to make the connection, right? Hands across the border and all that.
Groupies. Would you?The question should be, would they?
Have you a special stage wardrobe?Simple colours, beautiful fabrics and fabulous shoes.
Do you like to meet and greet fans after the gig?Yes, it's very nice to talk to people after the gigs – usually they are very cool and nice. You get the odd knob, of course, but we can deal with that fairly sharpish using a number of well- learned tricks.
Any useful stage tips?Don't overstay your welcome, stick to what you have practiced, and be happy to be wherever you are.
What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?Old quotes.
Who's invited to your aftershow party? The Mighty Stef and whoever he wants to bring – there's always a good buzz when he's around.
