INCLUDING premium, Hamilton Osborne King realised £50,000 at the company's furniture and fine art auction in Blackrock last Wednesday. A set of eight mid-19th century mahogany dining chairs by Jones of Dublin found a buyer at £2,800 and a mahogany longcase clock, signed Alex Christie, fetched £1,900.

A 19th century mahogany chest on stand made £1,600 and both a set of six mahogany dining chairs (circa 1840) and a 19th century mahogany longcase clock signed Henry la Austrobe of Dublin went for £1,500 each. A 19th century mahogany bookcase made £1,150, a rosewood and inlaid davenportstyle desk (circa 1900) sold for £1,050 and an early 19th century mahogany bookcase fetched £900.
