Irish Internet users can play an important role in influencing the development of the Web by voting on who will represent Europe on ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
The organisation, which was originally administered by the US government, was set up to regulate the addresses, names and numbers that underpin the operation of the Internet.
Internet users can register to vote in the elections to the global body by registering as an At Large member of ICANN at http:// members.icann.org/joinnow.htm.
