Tech Tools: With 5G network support and 12MP dual camera, the 6a is great value

€459

Wherever there is a Pixel, there’s a lower-cost Pixel “a” model that follows a few months later. Or at least, that’s how it has been for the past few Pixel releases. The Pixel 6 series in no exception, and that’s good news for those in the market for a new smartphone.

The Pixel 6a has some of the best features of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. It supports 5G networks, even if you currently don’t. It comes with Tensor, which is the Google-designed brains of the whole operation that is made for machine learning, and Titan f2 for security.

Its dual rear camera system includes 12-megapixel main and ultrawide lenses, with Night Sight for lowlight shots. You get the magic eraser feature that has proven popular on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro too, so you can remove unwanted objects from your otherwise excellent photos, and Night Sight for taking shots in low light. More importantly, you also get the real tone feature that Google has developed to reproduce skin tones more accurately.
