Statoil's board has sanctioned the commercial development of the Corrib gas field. The decision paves the way for completion of the project, in partnership with Enterprise Oil and Marathon Petroleum. Enterprise was known to have approved the project earlier this month, a decision it confirmed yesterday.
Corrib gas will be available in the market in 2003.
