Electrical appliances manufacturer Seagoe Technologies is to invest more than £4 million sterling in a project which has created 68 new jobs in Craigavon. Seagoe, a subsidiary of Glen Dimplex, is to manufacture night heaters for Creda.

The deal is said to be worth around £8 million per year. The Northern Ireland Economy Minister, Mr John McFall, said the contract would consolidate the company's position as the largest manufacturer of electrical storage heaters. The IDB has given £550,000 towards the investment.

Seagoe's managing director, Mr Jack Gault, said the company's decision was driven by the need to increase efficiency and reduce costs to strengthen its international competitiveness. Last year Seagoe announced a £2.7 million expansion project which created 82 jobs.
