Reid Furniture is negotiating with Hampden, its joint venture partner, to take full control of their four jointly owned stores in Dublin and Northern Ireland.

The change follows the takeover of Hampden by Sainsbury subsidiary Homebase Group. Reid said the joint venture had proved successful and increased sales in Ireland by 59 per cent to £3.29 million sterling (€5.3 million) in the first half of 1999.
