THERE will be keen interest in rugger circles to see whether an Irish person can land the job of chief executive of the five nations committee, an association of the five national rugby football unions.

The new organisation, which will manage the five nations tournament and direct the European Rugby Cup, will be based in Dublin. The recruitment is being handled by Dublin company Sales Placement.

As well as a working knowledge of French it says "a sense of humour is essential". Maybe some of the lads from the FAI might consider changing codes.
