The Canadian-owned telecommunications manufacturer, Nortel, is investing a total of £28 million at its manufacturing and research & development (R&D) facilities in Northern Ireland.

Nortel's parent company recently signed a three-year £400 million order with the Cable & Wireless telecommunications company, most of which will be filled at the Monkstown facility where there are 1,100 people employed.
