New manager at Xerox

SIFCO, the US aerospace company, has appointed Mr Maurice Foley, a former senior executive at Aer Lingus and GPA, to its board.

Mr Foley is currently a non executive director of AerFi Group (formerly GPA) and chairman of the board of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. He has been a non executive director of SIFCO Ireland since 1996.

Xerox Ireland, the sales and marketing company for Xerox products in the Republic, has appointed Mr Brendan Garry as general manager. He replaces Mr Peter Plant who has become chairman of Xerox Ireland. Mr Garry was previously country manager for 3Com.

Ms Mary Clarke is the new general manager of the Guinness Hopstore at St James Gate, Dublin. She will be responsible for the management and development of the facility.

She previously worked with the Guinness Ireland Pub team in Guinness Ireland. Before that she held several senior sales and marketing positions with Guinness, including promotions manager for Guinness Europe.

LK Shields Solicitors have appointed four new solicitors to the firm. Mr Pat Fox and Mr Garbhan O'Nuallain are joining the property department, while Ms Paula Burke and Mr Jim McGillion join the litigation section.

Dairygold has made three appointments to its marketing department based in Mitchelstown, Co Cork.

Mr Conor Hyde becomes product manager with responsibility for the strategic development of the Dairygold brand. He joins from Golden Vale.

Ms Mairead Maher also becomes product manager with responsibility for the Sno yoghurt brand.

Ms Vicki Ahern becomes marketing assistant and will be working on the Sno, Mitchelstown and Dairygold brands. A new brand identity, design and management consultancy has been formed by Mr Philip Barlow, formerly of BFK. The new company is called Brandinc and its creative director will be Mr Brendan Donlon.

Mr Alan O'Reilly has been appointed director of operations at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. He joins the authority from the Food Safety Programme of the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ms Valerie Robinson has become information manager with the authority.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) has made Ms Louise O'Brien student development executive. She will be responsible for marketing the CPA to all those interested in obtaining a professional accountancy qualification.

Premier Recruitment has made three appointments to its Limerick office. Mr Donal Hanrahan, becomes manager of the office, after spending two years working in the Cork office, specialising in accountancy and finance.

Ms Edel Kennedy, who previously worked with FAS, and Ms Ruth Howard, who worked with the Australian financial institution, Westpac Financial Services, also join the company.
