MANCHESTER United's chief executive chairman, Mr Martin Edwards, raised more than £10 million sterling from the sale of 2.23 million shares in the company at 450p a share, the club said yesterday. Mr Edwards sold the shares yesterday while the CM Edwards Manchester United Football Club Childrens' Settlement Trust sold an additional 1.5 million shares at the same price raising £6.75 million. The deal leaves Mr Edwards still interested in more than 10.6 million shares or 17.16 per cent in the company, including three million shares in which he has a non beneficial interest.
