A one-day strike over union recognition at the Liebherr (Ireland) crane factory employing 400 people near Killarney, Co Kerry, has been settled. Production, which was halted yesterday, returned to normal.

Management at the factory has agreed to full representation rights for more than 30 electricians, all members of the Technical Engineering and Electrical Union. Most Liebherr Ireland staff are members of SIPTU.
