The current buoyancy of the Irish economy has led to approval for 4,500 jobs in the immediate Limerick city area alone in the last year and should continue to throw up further job opportunities, the organiser of a major recruitment fair in the city has said.

Mr Joe Saunders said some 30 leading multinational and indigenous Irish firms will be offering job opportunities at Expo Limerick '99, which is being organised in association with The Irish Times. Firms in manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, aviation and finance are among those taking part in the fair, which takes place in the University of Limerick on April 30th and May 1st.
