Shannon-based data transport specialist, Irish Aersoft, has sold a 40 per cent shareholding in the company to Finnish technology group Kyro for £1.18 million (€1.5 million). The company which specialises in short message service (SMS) platforms for mobile phone networks will now share marketing and technology activities with Kyro subsidiary, Tecnomen Oy.

Aersoft, which currently employs 100 people, says it plans further expansion soon. Its messaging services can be used in various mobile data communications services. Applications include weather reports, stock prices, timetable and booking information, which will enhance Tecnomen's existing voicemail and prepaid services.
