The collapse of Independent Insurance demonstrates the central importance of solvency supervision, the Irish Insurance Federation has stated.
Chief executive Mr Michael Kemp said the fact that such a significant insurer had failed showed the absolute necessity for insurance regulators to focus on solvency supervision.
