A north-south working group is to be established to identify areas where co-operation could give a boost to the hotels and guesthouse sector.

The Irish Hotels Federation and the Hospitality Association of Northern Ireland are to meet in Dundalk today to discuss developments in the wake of the Northern Ireland peace agreement.

A working group is to be established by the two organisations to consider issues arising from the agreement and to identify areas of opportunity from an all-Ireland perspective.

The group will then make proposals to the joint councils of the two organisations "on the development of a strategy to identify areas where co-operation and implementation can take place for the mutual benefit of the tourist and hotel sector".
