Getting there first on budgetary advice

THE rush among the accountants and advisers to brief their clients on the Budget has already started

THE rush among the accountants and advisers to brief their clients on the Budget has already started. The Margin has already received invitations from Horwath Bastow Charleton and from McGrath & Company accountants. But there is obviously a lot of head-scratching about the best way to attract clients. Horwath Bastow Charleton will obviously be up all night as it prepares to brief its clients at breakfast the next morning, while McGrath is opting to hold its function that evening. The Margin is thus open to a lunch invitation so it can roll from one Budget function to the next.

Time was when all the big accountancy firms stayed up all night and arranged special print-runs for their Budget circulars. The blanket coverage in the press means many now don't bother.
