Independent Newspapers has said that the former Canadian prime minister, Mr Brian Mulroney, has joined its international advisory board. The board serves as "global advisers" for the Independent group, the company said in a statement.
"Prime Minister Mulroney is an excellent addition to the impressive list of individuals who greatly contribute to our growing company," said Independent chairman, Dr Tony O'Reilly. Others on the board include the journalist Mr Ben Bradlee, former mayor of New York Mr David Dinkins and the former governor of Hong Kong Mr Chris Patten.
