GREAT WESTERN Mining, which suffered the indignity of losing its Irish broker when Bloxham collapsed, has now decided to give its business to Davy – which took over much of the Bloxham operation.
As the biggest player in the Irish market, Davy already has plenty of experience when it comes to fundraising for Irish junior explorers – as evidenced by the presence of Kenmare, Ormonde, Ovoca Gold, Petroceltic, Petroneft, Providence and Fastnet on the Davy client list.
Great Western holds its inaugural agm in Dublin next week and Emmett O’Connell, whose exploration CV goes all the way back to the 1980s with Eglinton and Osceolas, is expected to give a detailed update on the group’s gold and copper exploration in the Nevada desert.
DAVY ISN’T the only broker acquiring new corporate business. British stockbroker Shore Capital has been appointed as joint broker to FBD Holdings, the latest in a series of Irish listed clients it has added to its roster.
Shore Capital also acts for Fastnet Oil Gas, the new venture of Cove Energy boss John Craven, as joint broker with Davy though it is the nominated adviser. Other explorers on its books are Clontarf Energy, Aminex and Conroy Gold and Natural Resources.
