Diageo shareholders will be asked at an extraordinary general meeting on November 24th to approve the appointment of KPMG as sole auditor to the group. KMPG has ousted PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) who have been joint auditors with KMPG since Guinness and GrandMet merged to form Diageo.

PWC had been auditor for Guinness before the merger and KMPG was auditor for GrandMet. At the time of the merger Diageo said it intended to appoint a single auditor.
