Michael Murphy Home Furnishings for Airside Retail Park in Swords

JLL Retail has let a substantial retail unit in Airside Retail Park in Swords, Co Dublin, to Michael Murphy Home Furnishings. This will be the home furnishing group's fifth outlet, joining stores in Leopardstown, Newbridge, Wexford town and New Ross.

The company has agreed a rent of €269 per sq m (€25 per sq ft) for the Airside unit which has 2,118sq m (22,800 sq ft) at ground and mezzanine level. JLL Retail are letting and managing agents in the park on behalf of owners IPUT and Irish Life.

Stephen Murray of JLL said the recovery in retail rents and the elimination of vacancies was now a feature of the prime retail park market characterised by the three leading Dublin schemes at Airside, Blanchardstown and Carrickmines.

Increasing interest from overseas occupiers in the 10,000sq ft unit size category was also driving demand and rental prices.
