HSE and Centric Health to operate from Dún Laoghaire Shopping Centre

Primary care centre and GP practice to open on third floor of scheme in December

The HSE is to open a new primary care centre in Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre in December. To coincide with this, Sheehan Medical, a part of the Centric Health Group, will open a new GP clinic at the centre. Both practices will be based on the third floor.

The HSE primary care centre will operate under a 30-year lease taking 3,298 sq m (35,500sq ft) of space, while Sheehan Medical has signed a 25-year lease taking 795sq m (8,557sq ft) of space.

Developed in the late 1970s, Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre occupies a prime location at the centre of the south Dublin town, on the corner of Marine Road and George’s Street Upper. The landmark retail scheme is home to the headquarters of Tesco Ireland alongside a wide range of retailers including SuperValu, Art & Hobby, Centra, Chemist Warehouse, Dubray, Eir, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Holland & Barrett, IT Star, Lloyds Pharmacy, New Look, O’Briens, Shoe Lane Coffee, Specsavers, and Vodafone.

The centre is surrounded by an affluent population base that includes Glasthule, Sandycove, Dalkey, Killiney and Monkstown, and has an average footfall of 50,000 shoppers per week. There are over 34,000 households and 800 businesses in Dun Laoghaire itself, offering ample opportunity for more retailers to locate at the centre.
