The question of whether plcs should reveal exactly how much directors are paid must cause some interesting discussion on the Irish Stock Exchange board, whose members include the brothers Sheridan, Harry and Vincent.

Harry is finance director of CRH and is absolutely opposed to the proposal to disclose exactly how much each director gets.

Brother Vincent is boss of Norwich Union, whose investment manager Martin Nolan is current president of the Irish Association of Investment Managers, the organisation most vocal in its support for full disclosure.
