The Irish arm of Elon Musk’s electric car maker Tesla has secured the planning green light for a new sales outlet and delivery centre to serve the north Dublin area.
Fingal County Council has granted planning permission to Tesla Motors Ireland Ltd to change the use of an industrial premises located in the North City Business Park located close to Junction 5 of the M50 from warehouse and office to a car sales outlet for Tesla.
Tesla opened its first outlet here in 2017 at the Sandyford Business Park in south Dublin and a second in 2023 at Fota Junction Retail Park in Cork.
Industry sources estimate that the value of the investment by Tesla for the new sales hub for Finglas will be close to €5 million.

In a planning report lodged with the application by Manahan Planners, it states that its existing Tesla sales outlet at Bracken Road in Sandyford Business Park “is reaching capacity”.
The report states that the current proposal is to provide a similar centre to service the northern half of the Dublin region.
This will result in the creation of 26 permanent jobs comprising 16 office employees, five technical staff and five sales advisers, and it will support Tesla owners across north Dublin.
No objections were lodged against the proposal and the council granted permission after concluding that it doesn’t give rise to any general amenity concerns.
The Fingal permission quickly follows Wicklow Co Council’s grant of permission to Tesla Motors Ireland Ltd to expand its so-called supercharger infrastructure here.
The Wicklow council has given the go-ahead for Tesla EV Charging Hub, The Wilds Restaurant, The Beehive, Coolbeg, Co Wicklow, which includes eight EV charging bays.
Tesla has nine EV supercharging locations across Ireland, according to a planning report lodged with the council by McArdle Doyle.
Last year, Tesla recorded 2,769 new registrations here, which was down 5.4 per cent on its 2024 sales.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show that Tesla sold more models in March of this year at 571 than the two preceding two months (301 combined), with the rise in sales following on from Tesla cutting prices.
The 2026 figures to date 471 Model Y vehicles making up 54 per cent of sales, and 401 of Model 3.
