Kíla, Hothouse Flowers, named in Ravelóid line-up

A total of 50 acts will perform as Gaeilge across five stages over June weekend

Kíla and the Hothouse Flowers are among the first headliners to be announced for Ravelóid, a new music festival as Gaeilge taking place next summer.

With a line-up that also includes Mundy, The Riptide Movement, Ham Sandwich, the Delorentos and Altan, the festival is expected to attract an estimated 5,000 people to Ardgillan Castle, north county Dublin, over the weekend of the 10th – 11th June 2016.

A total of 50 acts will perform across five stages over the weekend and full camping facilities will be provided free of charge for festival-goers.

The festival is billed as a dynamic mixture of contemporary and traditional music, comedy, dance, literature, discussions, workshops and more and will be the biggest Irish language event of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme.

Don’t worry, there won’t be an oral exam at the gate so come join us next summer and become a Ravelóid,” said organiser Tomás Ó Conghaile.

Early bird tickets are already on sale and cost €99 per adult and €50 for 12-18 year olds.

A family ticket allowing one adult and two children (under 12 years of age) costs €99.
