Wexford's fringe players impressed in this low-key tie at Walsh Park, yesterday. The halftime score was 2-6 to 1-7, with Michael Jordan and Gavin Buggy lifting the visitors with goals after John Meaney had given Waterford a dream start with a goal after two minutes. The winners added on three points during a third quarter in which Waterford failed to score. Ger Harris hit back with two points, but Wexford finished strongest despite Sean Daly forcing Damien Fitzhenry to save brilliantly four minutes from time.
