Over 120 of the world's top young golfers will converge on Castlerock golf club next week for the eighth World University Golf Championship The University of Ulster will play hosts to students from as far afield as Mongolia and Malawi when the championship tees-off next Tuesday.

The Irish team will be led by Irish Close Champion, Graeme McDowell and he will be joined by the 1999 university matchplay champion Chris Brown, Youth internationals Ricky Elliott and Tim Rice, who are both students at the University of Toledo, Johnny Foster from University of Ulster and Rory Leonard. Gemma Hegarty, the 1999 British Universities matchplay champion from the University of St Andrews will be joined by Caroline Smyth, who represented Ireland in the 1998 championships and junior international Joanne Black from Queen's University in the women's team.
