With 18 minutes to go this game two as bizarre as you're likely to see all season, and a red card each for UCD captain Aidan Lynch and St Patrick's top-scorer Marcus Hallows, cited for "violent conduct".
It was St Patrick's who found the net after 72 minutes. Eddie Gormley slotted home a penalty after Lynch tripped Ger McCarthy. Lynch paid the price with a red card from referee John Stacey.
Martin Moran's side responded almost instantly through a John Martin headed goal. Six minutes later Packie Lynch played a harmless pass back to Wood, who under pressure from Mick O'Byrne somehow let the ball slip under his foot for the winning goal.
