Dr McKenna Cup SECTION A: Holders Tyrone have one foot in the Dr McKenna Cup final following their runaway win over the students from Jordanstown in Dungannon yesterday.
The home side picked off some stylish scores, with Stephen O'Neill helping himself to six points. Peter Donnelly and Brian Dooher hit two each, but it was the quality of the Tyrone score-taking that impressed.
Mark Lynch and Colin Devlin scored on sporadic UUJ raids, but the home side's dominance was unquestionable and by the halfway stage they led by 0-13 to 0-3.
The second half failed to reach the attacking heights of the first, but Tyrone never allowed their 10-point cushion to slip.
Substitute Peter Canavan converted a couple of frees and Dooher brought his tally to four. Devlin and Lynch were again on target for Jordanstown, but they never looked like troubling Mickey Harte's side.
