The Cunnigar pitch and putt club will stage their first national event when 25 teams line-up in the National Club Tournament finals at the Dungarvan venue next weekend. Six clubs, Fernhill (Clonakilty), Glenville (Tallaght), Tullamore, Navan, Seapoint (Drogheda) and Parteen will field two teams each. The Parteen B team of Joe Forde, Joe Duggan, Dan Vaughan and Par Earls will be defending the title they won last year at Fernhill with a score of 36 up. A strong Loughlinstown team includes Hubert Kelly, the 1991 National Intermediate champion, and Terence O'Donnell, already a winner this year in the intermediate strokeplay. The pair are joined by Don McCormack and Tom Mason.
