The 24-year-old world number one moved to 14 under at the Walt Disney World Resort tournament after a second-round five-under-par 67.

But that was not good enough to match fellow American Steve Flesch, who birdied seven of the last 12 holes for a 65 after starting the day level with Woods at the head of the leaderboard on nine under.

Flesch (33), is chasing his first win on the PGA Tour while Woods has already claimed nine titles this year alone.
