The All-Ireland semi-final between Kilkenny and Clare attracted the highest television audience tuning into RTE's live afternoon coverage of The Sunday Game during this year's hurling championship.
That match was watched by an estimated 353,000 viewers, a figure which represented 54 per cent of the people watching television at that time. Clare were also involved in the second highest rated match with their Munster semi-final replay with Tipperary at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday June 12th, although that game did have the highest share of the television audience at 60 per cent.
The leading figure of all RTE's live Sunday Game broadcasts was the football double-bill of July 18th, when the Cork v Kerry and Galway v Mayo provincial finals were watched by 418,000 and a 53 per cent share of the viewing audience.
