SHAMROCK ROVERS chairman Jonathan Roche has welcomed the Government announcement that €825,000 has been allocated to the Tallaght Stadium project as part of the Rapid Sports Capital top-up scheme.

The scheme is administered under the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. This top-up is in addition to the grant of €2,750,000 allocated by the Department of Sports earlier this year.

"This is great news for Shamrock Rovers and the people of Tallaght," said Roche. "It also shows how sport benefits the local community."
