Setanta final fixed for Tolka Park

The Setanta Sports Cup final between Cork City and Drogheda United later this month will be played at Tolka Park in Drumcondra.

The tournament's organising committee made the decision at its meeting in Belfast last night following Drogheda's semi-final win over holders Linfield.

The game, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd, holds a 7.45pm kick-off.

Drogheda must plan for the final without new signing Shane Barrett who suffered ankle ligament  damage in last night's 1-0 win at Windsor Park.

The former Longford player had a scan today and results confirmed no broken bones.  Still, though, he faces up to six weeks on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Dan Connor will, however, be available.  He was suspended last night following his red card against Cork in the final Group 1 game but has now served the entirety of that suspension.

Tolka Park hosted last year's inaugural final between Shelbourne and Linfield.  Had Linfield beaten Drogheda last night, this year's showpiece would most likely have been played in Belfast.

Tickets for the game are priced €15 for adults and €8 with concession.  There are also a limited number of schoolchild tickets priced at €5.

Supporters can purchase match tickets from their respective clubs and usual outlets from Friday morning.

The game is a replay of last season's FAI Cup final when Drogheda beat Cork 2-0.  This season, however, Cork have beaten Paul Doolin's side twice in the Setanta Cup and forced a draw in the league.

Cork's home league game with Sligo scheduled for April 21st and also Drogheda's away trip to Derry City on the same night have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Also on the same night, Shamrock Rovers, who play their First Division home games at Tolka Park, have had their game with Limerick FC postponed.
