Cardiff have announced the signing of striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

The former Leeds, Chelsea and Middlesbrough forward had been tipped to join Cardiff's Coca-Cola Championship rivals Leicester.

But the 35-year-old has opted to join the Bluebirds and looks set to form a mouth-watering partnership with former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

Like Fowler, Hasselbaink becomes reacquainted with Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale following their time together at Leeds.
