The Football Association have rejected Tottenham's appeal over Didier Zokora's red card against Manchester City on Tuesday.

The Ivory Coast international was dismissed by referee Steve Bennett for a two-footed tackle on Elano during the north London outfit's 2-0 Carling Cup win at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Zokora, who has been deployed in defence recently due to an injury crisis, now faces a three-match ban leaving Spurs with bigger problems in defence.
