Chelsea have been fined £10,000 and warned as to their future conduct by the English FA for the behaviour of their players in March's Premiership match at Fulham.

The club were charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the match with their neighbours at Craven Cottage, which the champions lost 1-0.

The club denied the charge and requested a personal hearing, and the FA's disciplinary commission today found the charge to be proven.

Controversy reigned in the game just before the hour mark when Chelsea's Didier Drogba had a goal disallowed for handball by referee Mike Dean, who discussed the incident with his assistant.

Mourinho was angered by the decision, not believing either official could have seen the incident.

Events boiled over in the dying minutes, after William Gallas was sent off for a dangerous tackle on the Cottagers' Heidar Helguson, with players from both teams getting involved after the touchline offence.

As the France defender headed for the tunnel he made thumbs down gestures to incensed Fulham fans.

At the full-time whistle Fulham fans invaded the pitch and scenes turned nasty with several on-field skirmishes, before police and stewards restored order. PA
