Celtic will not be signing Robbie Fowler, despite reports to the contrary.
The veteran striker is on the lookout for a new club after being released by Liverpool and had been linked with a move to Celtic's bitter rivals Rangers.
But reports in Britain today suggested Celtic were set to sign Fowler on a bumper contract worth £30,000 per-week, beating off interest from a host of other clubs.
Given that boss Gordon Strachan has already snapped up two strikers to add to the five other first-team strikers he already has, a move for Fowler always seemed unlikely.
And Celtic statement read: "Morning newspaper reports linking Celtic with a move for Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler are completely untrue and ill-informed."
