Separate sessions

In a new departure, the Irish Ladies Golf Union has decided that the senior A and "B" squad sessions over the winter months will be conducted separately under the supervision of the national coach Jane Leavy.

Although both squads will train at the specialised teaching facility at the Cobra Academy at St Margaret's, the decision to break them up will mean more intensive personalised supervision.

Meanwhile, Philip Murphy and Lynne Sweeney, who have enjoyed some success in coaching the ILGU's junior squad, will continue to oversee the needs of the underage players at their academy in Limerick County.

The full squads are: Senior A (December 1st-3rd, January 26th-28th, March 2nd-4th at Cobra Academy, St Margaret's) - Y Cassidy (Dundalk), A Coffey (Warrenpoint), C Coughlan (Cork), P Delaney (Co Louth), E Dickson (Royal Co Down), E Dowdall (Wexford), F Healy (Headfort), T Mangan (Ennis), D Smith (Co Louth).

Senior B (November 24th-26th, February 2nd-4th, March 9th-11th at St Margaret's) - E Butler (Donabate), M Dowling (New Ross), M Dunne (Skerries), S Hayes (Hermitage), D Judge (Roscommon), U Marsden (Tullamore), A McCartan (Greenore), H Nolan (Shannon), G O'Leary (Youghal), M Riordan (Tipperary).
