South Africa will not run the risk of underestimating the World XV, when the two side meet on Saturday, according to coach Jake White.
"It's only fair to those players who now have the chance to come into the team that we do not underplay Saturday's game," White said today.
"Some of the players have waited a long time to play for the Springboks, so we have had exactly the same build-up as for an official test match.
"The training, the intensity and the team talks have had the same importance."
White has brought a number of fringe players into the squad, including three uncapped players on the bench in lock Johann Muller, scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar and centre Wynand Olivier.
"The match provides several players with the opportunity to secure long-term places in the team and to go to the World Cup next year," White said.
"It's a chance to see how the backs go with Andre Snyman on the wing and with Jaco van der Westhuyzen (flyhalf) and Jean de Villiers (inside centre) together.
"We'll also be able to see what our depth is like in the forward pack."
The Springboks aim to play typically tight test rugby but White hoped there would be room for the introduction of some attacking players from the bench.
"We hope to see creativity every time we play, but test rugby is not about running from your own 22 or scoring seven or eight tries in a match.
"If the game goes according to plan then there will definitely be an opportunity for some of the new guys on the bench to play alongside the likes of Percy Montgomery, Jaque Fourie and Jean de Villiers," White said.
World XV vice-captain Xavier Rush said the visitors would be tightening up after being criticised for playing too loosely in their outing against England last weekend.
They lost 46-19, in the guise of the Barbarians, after conceding 28 points in the final quarter.
"We're going to stick to the basics much more - the end of the game against England was a bit like touch rugby.
"So we'll be a lot tighter and, if we stick to the basics, then we should be able to get our attacking game flowing from there. We are gelling more and more as a team," Rush said.
The World XV travel to Cape Town for a benefit match against former Springbok captain Corne Krige's Invitation XV on June 9th.
