English Premiership club, Sunderland have signed Kilkenny City's striker Michael Reddy. The 19-year-old signed yesterday and pending a medical examination today will join the club for three years at least.

The player never played junior football, and he was introduced to the senior game in the National League Premier Division 18 months ago. No fee has been disclosed, and a final figure will be based on appearances and if the player is capped at under-21 or senior level by Ireland.

Aberdeen manager Ebbe Skovdahl yesterday confirmed an interest in Stoke City's Icelandic international Larus Sigurdsson.

The Dons are expected to make a formal approach for Sigurdsson in the next few days as the Danish boss builds up his squad before the season's curtain raiser against Celtic on August 1st.
